Scott Collard

I've been living in Maine since 2000. Previous to that I have lived in both New England and the Midwest.

Ellen and I married in 1997. Ellen taught 7th Grade Science in our local middle school. We’re both retired as of 2022. And if she isn't at school or at home, she is walking and playing with Ryan, our 3 year old red merle Australian Shepard!

Our children are grown. They live in various places across the country including Maine, New Hampshire, Indiana and Wyoming. We also have three grandchildren from our son, Benjamin and his wife, Elizabeth. Our daughter, Kendra and her husband, Ken, have three sons. The newest arrived at the end of January 2023.

Mom, Virginia, lived with us for many years. She passed December 2016 from Parkinsons. Dad passed in 2009 from Alzheimers. Some who read this May remember my sister and brother. Though it has been many years since we’ve spoken I still love them.

I was self-employed as a planner, designer and design illustrator. I hope to enjoy fishing this summer. I look forward to getting my 2007 BMW Z4 out and on the road once the snow is gone and the roads are free of frost heaves. In the meantime my days include reading. drawing, and watercolor painting. Single malt scotch is still a favorite but a cold beer is good, too. 😄

We grew up in a beautiful community. It was full of interesting people and things to do. I hope your experience gave you as many fond memories and "gifts" as I have and cherish.

If I could do it all again . . . I'd try harder to be a better friend to my classmates. And I'd try to find the courage to make being who I'd like to be more important than worrying about what others might think of me. (Sorry, Dad. I tried it the other way but it just wasn't any fun.)
